MASHARA SCORED A FIRST

It was such an amazing day for well over 50 kids of Yaba Community when they were taken on an all-expense paid day-out to Ozone Cinema in Sabo area of Yaba by Hon. Adetayo Oyemade ll (a.k.a Mashara) who is presently the Secretary to the Local Government (S.L.G.) in Yaba LCDA.

The movie viewing session tagged "MOVIES with MASHARA" which came up on Friday, March 2, 2018 aside the over 50 kids and the S.L.G himself with personal aides, also had in attendance Hon. (Mrs) Bunmi Coker - Supervisor for Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Emmanuel Agbe - Supervisor for Works & Infrastructure, Hon. Gbenga Onikan - Supervisor for Budget, Hon. Achamba - Supervisor for Agric, Hon. Rasheed Junaid - Supervisor for Education e.t.c.

In her words, Mrs. Coker 'I have never experienced such. This is my very first time of seeing such form of motivational and kind gesture'. While in his wrap-up speech, Hon. Adetayo Oyemade ll, who was the convener of the programme said "while thanking your parents that trusted me with their children, so you could have an experience you all will never forget, I urge you all to focus on your education as that is the key to success. I as well urge you all to try as much as possible to always be obedient".

FELA's OPINION AS REGARDS THE UPCOMING L.G. ELECTION

My Opinion as regards the upcoming Local Government Election I welcome you once again to another sensitive period in our environment. I believe you are set and ready to elect your candidates to their various positions of power but before you dash out on D-day kindly take your time to reflect on this article. I think this is a time for us to engage in a self cum societal reflection and evaluation of the current state of each wards under the control of an elected Chairman and Councillor respectively. -What development have you witnessed in your environment in the past 8 years. - How many youths of your wards are gainfully employed by the local Government Area? - Is the so called councillor transparent or when last did he/she update/ report to you about his stewardship?
