YABA LCDA PARTNERS LASG TO TRAIN 200 WOMEN

Yaba LCDA in partnership with Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has graduated 200 women in Yaba community. The women were trained in various skills for one month. The skills include; hairdressing, catering services, event decoration, tie & dye, makeup/gele tying, pomade and soap making. The women, after the training were empowered with equipments to start-up the trade. The Chairman of Yaba LCDA congratulated the graduants and encouraged them not to sell the equipments given to them. He advised them to make this a starting point and grow more in the business. The Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation ably represented by the Permanent secretary, Mrs Abiola Liadi also encouraged them to make good use of the knowledge they acquired within the past one month. She wished them the best in their various trades.

SHINNER LAUNCHES NGO

Popular hospitality business personality and philanthropist, Alhaj Mudashiru Akanbi Odetunde (a.k.a Shinner) on 7th of October, 2018 celebrated his 52nd birthday in Lekki area of Lagos. The birthday celebration which had many celebrities and notables like; Hon. Kayode  Omiyale - the Executive chairman, Yaba LCDA alongside his vice, Hon. Bola Aileru, Hon. Shola Giwa (member, Lagos State House of Assembly, popular musicians; Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and Sulay Alao Malaika, Ayo Ewebiyi e.t.c as well as socialites like Akinsiku Oba Dosunmu, MC Oluomo, Zulu Baba Ewe e.t.c as guests also saw the launch of an NGO called SHINNER ODETUNDE FOUNDATION. The foundation (S. O. F) according to it's founder, Alhaj Odetunde was set up to intervene in the lives of gifted, determined and purposeful disadvantage individuals as well as to give support to the less privileged.

SANWO-OLU DEFEATS GOV.AMBODE IN YABA AREA

As reported by a reputable journalist, Debo Malthus Omilani, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has defeated the incumbent governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, at ward K, Yaba on Tuesday. At the All Saint Primary School where the primary took place , Mr Aina Olumide the electoral officer in charge of the ward, announced that Sanwo-Olu polled 3202 votes ahead of the incumbent governor Akinwunmi Ambode who secured just one vote. The primary election which experienced large turnout of the party members indicated the interest of the people for a greater Lagos in 2019. The party members who were on queue ready to vote flashed their membership card to show their support for governorship aspirant. The voters showed their admiration as they  hailed a member representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Olajide Jimoh for his selfless lifestyle and passion as he arrived his ward to cast his vote.
