As reported by a reputable journalist, Debo Malthus Omilani, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has defeated the incumbent governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, at ward K, Yaba on Tuesday.
At the All Saint Primary School where the primary took place , Mr Aina Olumide the electoral officer in charge of the ward, announced that Sanwo-Olu polled 3202 votes ahead of the incumbent governor Akinwunmi Ambode who secured just one vote.
The primary election which experienced large turnout of the party members indicated the interest of the people for a greater Lagos in 2019.
The party members who were on queue ready to vote flashed their membership card to show their support for governorship aspirant.
The voters showed their admiration as they hailed a member representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Olajide Jimoh for his selfless lifestyle and passion as he arrived his ward to cast his vote. They were chanting 'Jide Jimoh our votes for you, 'We are solidly behind JJ for another term even beyond 2019", Sanwo-Olu our next Governor of Lagos State.
Jimoh, who shortly addressed the crowd said they should remain focus and ensure peaceful coexistence among themselves. He said he was satisfied with the exercise in his ward. He later took his exit immediately after casting his vote for Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the next governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress in Lagos State for the forthcoming 2019 general election.
